Privacy policy
WHO WE ARE
Afroton vzw, Hugo Verrieststraat 116, 8800 Roeselare, Belgium, enterprise number BE1033.653.873, is responsible (the "controller") for the personal data handled through this website. Questions and requests: [email protected].
WHAT HAPPENS WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT
You can read every page and buy tickets without accepting anything. Our hosting provider processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the pages and protect the site against abuse; it sets no cookies. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a working, secure website (art. 6.1.f GDPR).
Your cookie choice itself is remembered in your browser for 6 months (local storage, "afroton-consent"). It is not a cookie and it is not sent to us. This is strictly necessary to respect your choice, so it needs no consent.
WHAT WE ASK YOUR CONSENT FOR
When you first visit, a banner asks what you allow. Nothing below is loaded before you say yes, and refusing changes nothing else on the site. Legal basis: your consent (art. 6.1.a GDPR and art. 10/2 of the Belgian law of 30 July 2018). You can withdraw it at any time, as easily as you gave it, with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page; withdrawing does not affect what happened before.
Statistics. Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd.) counts which pages are visited and what is clicked, so we can see what works. Google's advertising features stay switched off: through Google's "consent mode" the advertising signals are always set to "denied" on this site. Google may process the data in the United States; Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
External media. The YouTube videos (Google Ireland Ltd., using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode) and the Spotify players (Spotify AB, Sweden) on the site. Without this consent each player shows a button instead; pressing it loads that one player, and that player then sets its own cookies.
Advertising. If you allow this, our own server (Cloudflare, under afroton.eu) tells Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. which of our pages you view, when you open a page with the ticket shop and when you click a ticket link, so we can see which of our Facebook and Instagram adverts bring visitors who want tickets. No Meta script loads in your browser: your browser only talks to afroton.eu. With each of these events our server sends Meta the page address (without its labels), the time, a random event number, your IP address, your browser type (user agent) and the two cookies below (_fbp and, if you came through a Meta advert, _fbc). This site never sends Meta your name, your e-mail address or your purchase. Without this consent nothing is sent to Meta and the two cookies are not set; withdrawing it deletes them and stops the sending from the next page on. For the same purpose, and only after this yes, the labels of the address you arrived with (fbclid, utm_*) are kept in your browser for this tab (session storage, "afroton-ad-labels") and added to the ticket links, so the ticket shop can still see which advert you came from. Meta may process the data outside the European Union, including in the United States; Meta's own privacy policy applies to what Meta does with it.

TICKETS — WEEZTIX
Tickets are sold through the Weeztix shop shown on our tickets and workshops pages. Buying a ticket is the service you ask for, so the shop loads without our banner. It runs inside its own frame, under Weeztix's own privacy policy: there Weeztix and its waiting-room service (Queue-it) set their own cookies, and the shop asks its own question about its marketing cookies. Our banner choice is not passed to the shop. The shop reads advertising labels from the page address (such as utm_source or fbclid) to see which advert led to a sale. For your order, Weeztix processes your order and payment data, and Afroton receives the attendee data needed to run the event. Legal basis: the contract for your ticket (art. 6.1.b GDPR).
NEWSLETTER
If you sign up, Brevo (Brevo SAS, France) stores your e-mail address, and that you signed up through this website, so we can send you news about our events. You first get a mail to confirm. You can unsubscribe with the link in every mail. Legal basis: your consent.
YOUR RIGHTS
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, to correct or delete it, to limit or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a usable format. Mail [email protected]; we answer within one month. You can withdraw any consent at any time.
COMPLAINTS
If you think we handle your data wrongly, please tell us first at [email protected]. You can also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit), Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels: gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be.
